Welcome to Windmill! This policy will cover information that we collect when you use our product. If you do not agree with this policy, then please do not access or use our Services. 

1. What information we collect

Information required to set up Windmill

Information collected through usage of the product Windmill collects information through the usage of products that you choose to integrate.  Windmill offers a series of Integrations (listed here), within each integration you can learn more about data accessibility.  Customers can choose to integrate any providers they want to include and can request additional integrations by reaching out to Windmill support. 

2. How we use the information we collect

To improve the product Our only goal is to make the product as valuable for our users as possible.  Windmill data should improve your day to day experience in the systems you are currently using. Our goal is to offer you more visibility into your organization allowing your team and management to make better decisions and scale with ease. Our product team uses product analytics and user feedback to understand the usage of the different features in the product and prioritize future development.

3. How we share the information we collect

Sharing with our product team The members of our product team will have access to the anonymized metrics above. Specific Windmill team members who are corresponding with a user after receiving user feedback will have access to name and email so they can follow up appropriately.

‍Sharing with third parties We do not sell any information to third parties. We share information with certain third parties that help us operate and improve our service (please review the Storage and security section below).

4. How we store and secure the information we collect

Storage and security We store the usage data inside of an encrypted database, inaccessible from the internet. Additionally, we use third-party analytics services (PostHog) to store certain non-sensitive usage metrics.

How long we keep information We will retain your personal information for the period of time necessary to fulfill the purposes outlined in this Privacy Policy unless a longer retention period is required or permitted by law.  

Storage location The usage data is stored on AWS in the United States.

5. Indemnification

You have the right to request a copy of your information, to object to our use of your information, to request the deletion or restriction of your information, or to request your information in a structured, electronic format.

If you would like to request to delete your data, please contact us at support@windmill.com.

Access and update your information Our Services allow you to find certain information about you from within Windmill. For example, you can search for your name in the tool to find information from the various data sources that we index.

Deactivate your account If you no longer wish to use our Services, your administrator may be able to deactivate your account. Please contact your administrator. If you are an administrator and are unable to deactivate an account through your administrator settings, please contact us through email or the product feedback feature.

Please be aware that deactivating your account does not delete your information; your information remains visible to other users based on your past participation within the Services.

Opt out of communications We will occasionally send emails with product updates or related information. You can opt out of receiving those emails through the unsubscribe link.

6. Information Windmill does not collect

Windmill does not intentionally collect sensitive or special category personal information, such as genetic data, biometric data for the purposes of uniquely identifying a natural person, health information, or religious information.

Windmill does not knowingly collect information from or direct any of our Website or content specifically to children under the age of 18. If we learn or have reason to suspect that a customer is under the age of 18, we will close that account.

7. Changes To This Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy was last updated on the date indicated below, but we suggest that you review it from time to time, as our Platform and our business may change. As a result, at times it may be necessary for Windmill to make changes to this Privacy Policy (and/or our Cookie Policy). Windmill reserves the right to update or modify this Privacy Policy and/or our Cookie Policy at any time and from time to time without prior notice. However, if we make changes that we believe will materially impact this Privacy Policy, the Cookie Policy or your rights, we will promptly notify you of those changes. Your continued use of the Platform after any changes or revisions to this Privacy Policy shall indicate your agreement with the terms of such revised Privacy Policy.

8. Cookie Policy

A cookie is a string of information that a website stores on a visitor's computer, and that the visitor's browser provides to the website each time the visitor returns. Windmill uses cookies to help Windmill identify and track visitors, their usage of the Websites, and their Website access preferences. Windmill visitors who do not wish to have cookies placed on their computers may set their browsers to refuse cookies before using the Websites. Disabling browser cookies may cause certain features of Windmill's websites to not function properly.

Certain pages on the Website may set other third party cookies. For example, we may embed content, such as videos, from another site that sets a cookie. These sites set their own cookies and we do not have access or control over these cookies. The use of cookies by third parties is not covered by our Privacy Policy.
